What Causes a Casting?

Early release of the wrist angle (lag) in the downswing, robbing power and causing thin/fat contact.

The wrist angle releasing before impact. In slow motion, the hands should maintain a forward-leaning shaft until just before impact.

Key frames to check:

  • P5 — is lag maintained or has it already released?
  • P6 — is the shaft leaning forward or backward at impact?
